I felt stressed over the weekend. I used lunch time today to practice some mindfulness. It involved a one-hour lunchtime walk. No music, just a deep dive into my surroundings. It’s therapy for the mind.
Combing coaching and mindfulness meditation is enticing. Meditation assists clients in achieving a state of being that allows them to think clearly about work-related pressures and goals. And when clients make good mindset and behavior changes, they are better positioned to relax and enter a meditative state—with all the advantages that come with it. The two approaches are constantly deepening and bolstering each other. The word “meditative” can conjure up the wrong meaning for people, thinking about yoga, Buddhist monks, and the like. Mindfulness coaching is a method of teaching people how to be attentive to their thoughts and feelings. Maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of thoughts, feelings, body sensations, and the surrounding environment through a calm lens is what mindfulness is about.
