The QNUK Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness (RQF) is a half-day course designed to provide individuals with a basic understanding of mental health and its various aspects. Throughout the course, participants will delve into various aspects of young people’s mental health, including common mental health disorders, risk factors, protective factors, and the impact of mental health issues on young individuals’ well-being and development. They will explore topics such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, eating disorders, and substance abuse, gaining insights into their causes, symptoms, and potential effects on young people’s lives.

This Level 2 Award is suitable for individuals in various professional settings, including managers, human resources personnel, team leaders, and employees who want to develop a better understanding of mental health in the workplace. It equips participants with practical knowledge and skills to promote a mentally healthy work environment and support colleagues who may be experiencing mental health difficulties.

QNUK Level 3 Award in Mental Health at Work This two-day, recognised qualification, taught in person or during online lessons, is the ideal qualification for mental health ambassadors in the workplace. With a responsibility to protect the health of employees at work, having mental health ambassadors highlights the organisations commitment to promoting positive mental health awareness. The qualification covers a range of mental health conditions; some, more common than others, how to identify potential mental health concerns in colleagues; and then how to discuss their needs and assist them to accessing suitable services and support.  The course is ideal for those people responsible for managing mental health within a workplace, as well as carrying out the role of a first aider for mental health.

Mindfulness course

Mindfulness meditation is a style of meditation in which you concentrate on being acutely aware of what you’re sensing and feeling in the present moment, without interpretation or judgment. Mindfulness incorporates breathing techniques, guided imagery, and other activities that assist calm the body and mind and reduce stress. It is exhausting to spend too much time planning, problem-solving, fantasizing, or thinking negative or odd ideas. It can also increase your chances of experiencing stress, anxiety, and depression symptoms. Mindfulness activities can help you shift your focus away from this type of thinking and engage with the world around you.

Understanding Post traumatic stress

People suffering from PTSD have powerful, unsettling thoughts and sensations about their traumatic experience that remain long after the event has finished. They may relive the event in flashbacks or dreams, experience sadness, dread, or fury, and feel disconnected or estranged from others. I help you identify the symptoms and associated triggers. We discuss coping, cause and effect and we give you tools to help you on the way to recovery. You will get the tools to look after yourself and manage your symptoms and an understanding and signposting towards therapies that can help the recovery process.

Mental health hygiene

Mental health Hygiene is based around gratitude, mindfulness, self-talk and resilience. I look to help you and your team overcome patterns of behaviour and deal with stress. This is what the wellness courses are grounded on. I work extensively in the field of positive psychology; these bespoke programmes are designed to build resilience first and foremost. Then equip you with the tools to change behaviours and move in a new direction. This is purposed towards helping you cope with stress and use stress to your advantage. I look to help you develop new patterns of behaviour and understand the positive aspects around diet, fitness, sleep, and positive relationships. 

Resilience Training

Wellbeing and resilience are crucial in both preventing the start of and potentially lowering the severity of current mental health problems. Wellbeing and resilience are critical for developing effective problem-solving skills, establishing, and maintaining interpersonal relationships, and setting realistic goals, all of which improve an individual’s capacity to perform and contribute meaningfully to daily life. Good health entails more than just being free of illness. Focusing on wellness and resilience is critical in developing a holistic approach to health that addresses both physical and psychological aspects.  Wellbeing involves having positive self-image and esteem.
